How to master the art of film making

We were invited by Dan Mace to create some animated sequences for his two-and-a-half-hour YouTube video on mastering the art of filmmaking. The timeline was tight, but we had a lot of fun stepping out of the commercial world for a bit.

We chose a  collage style art direction to give the films a slight documentary feel. But we didn’t want the frame to feel too complicated and cluttered, so we balanced that out with bold 2D graphic elements. When it comes to educational content, keeping the visuals engaging and digestible is really the key, and we feel we definitely achieved that here.

We were very happy with the end result, and so were Dan and his team. You can see the rest of the videos here or check out the full video on Dan's YouTube channel.
