Care

Did you know modern detergents are a technological marvel? We didn’t either. That is until we heard Malcolm Gladwell’s fascinating deep dive into the science of laundry. Thanks to major advances over the last decade, today’s detergents work just as effectively at temperatures as low as 15°C. And since heating water consumes a lot of energy, washing cold can lead to big savings.

Despite the environmental benefits, many people remain unaware that washing clothes in cold water is both effective and energy-efficient. So we challenged ourselves to create a public service announcement (PSA) that would inform and encourage viewers to make this simple yet impactful change in their laundry habits.

Inspired by Malcolm Gladwell's insights, we embarked on a self-initiated project to craft an engaging and informative animation with the goal of highlighting the advancements in detergent technology that make cold-water washing effective, thereby promoting energy conservation.

Styleframes

The animation employs a clean and modern aesthetic, combining bold typography with dynamic visuals to convey the message clearly and compellingly. By focusing on the science behind modern detergents and the environmental advantages of cold-water washing, we aimed to educate and motivate viewers to reconsider their laundry routines.

Creating an animation that is both informative and engaging requires a balance of design and storytelling. We utilized motion graphics techniques to visualize the unseen benefits of cold-water washing, ensuring the content was accessible and resonant. This project reflects our ability to distill complex information into clear, visually appealing and understandable narratives.

3D Process

While this project was self-initiated, it serves as a testament to our commitment to using animation as a tool for positive change. The PSA has the potential to reach a broad audience, encouraging environmentally friendly practices and showcasing how thoughtful design can influence behavior.

We love working with us.
